Stressed out? Need a break? Try one of my ideas for how to de-stress! I find myself getting stressed out whenever my plate seems to fill up (which feels like a lot lately) so I have been working on finding ways to help myself before feeling like I just can’t do it anymore.
- Sit by the fire (or anywhere that comforts you) with a hot cup of tea, a glass of wine, or whatever drink calms you down. This can be so relaxing and it’s a great way to just take time for yourself. Take some deep breaths and reflect on your day, what’s to come, or whatever is on your mind.
- Make a list of who/what you are grateful for. I love doing this whenever I’m feeling down because this forces me to be positive and no longer allows my mind to think negatively.
- Do yoga or stretch. I find that I can focus better after stretching my muscles out. Twenty minutes of exercise can yield up to 12 hours of improved mood. Isn’t that wild?!
- Get some extra sleep. I swear sleep can help with everything. Try heading to bed an hour early or sleeping in a bit if you can.
- Spend time with your loved ones. Hang out with a family member or give a friend a call to catch up. Maybe vent for a little, and then move on to more positive topics to help get your mind off of whatever has been stressful for you.
These are just 5 ways that help me de-stress! If you have any other ways, let me know what they are in the comments. I love sharing ideas to help one another!
