Beach Vacation Packing Essentials – How to Keep it Light and Versatile

The key to packing light for your next beach vacation is packing versatile pieces. The more versatile pieces, the better! My number one tip: keep it neutral. Here’s what I recommend when packing:

One purse that’s neutral and fits just the essentials. There’s no need for a large tote purse when you’re on vacation. Keep it small! Plan to wear this with most, if not all outfits.

One blazer or cardigan that’s neutral or white that will match most outfits. I always pack something like this in case I need to throw it on at night when it cools off. It’s also good to have when you’re in a restaurant or building with air conditioning blasting.

White button down – This is a staple piece since you can wear it as a cover up or an extra layer if you get cold at night. If you really want to pack light, you could pack just this instead of packing a blazer or cardigan, like I previously mentioned.

Simple jewelry that goes with everything is key. You don’t need a bunch of pieces that go with different outfits. It’s best to bring just a few versatile pieces. I know it can be tempting to bring the best of the best of your jewelry collection, but trust me… it’s not worth it.

Shoes – I tend to pack 3 pairs of shoes. Flip flops/sandals for the beach and pool, a pair of sandals for day time outfits, and a pair of heels. I always keep these neutral so I know they will go with everything.

Sundresses are great because they’re lightweight and can be folded pretty small. I’m a big sundress fan on vaca because they’re easy to throw on but still make you look and feel put together.

When packing for your next vacation, just remember to keep it neutral. Don’t be afraid to re-wear some pieces. The most important thing is that you use your vacation to relax and enjoy yourself!
