Looking for your next vacation spot? Look no further, I’ve got you covered. Rehoboth Beach Delaware is a perfect beach getaway location. Family-friendly beaches, a mile-long boardwalk, and the ocean…what more can you ask for in a vaca?
We stayed in an Airbnb about a mile away from the ocean. That was perfect for us because we were going for a quiet and relaxing vibe. If Airbnb isn’t your vibe, then they have tons of hotel options right on the boardwalk if you prefer being right up on the beach.
The neighborhoods in the area were super cute and full of houses with charm. It felt very safe during the day and at night.
Overall the people were incredibly friendly. Everyone said hello to each other, it was really nice. Bikes were a heavily used form of transportation. I wish we would’ve rented bikes and rode around the neighborhoods.
The boardwalk is a mile long of fun things to do. Tons of restaurants, ice cream spots, cheesy beach shops, and more.
The beaches are pretty busy. I never realized Delaware was such a popular beach vacation spot until I went there. If you’re looking at the ocean (on the boardwalk), if you go all the way to the right, it’s a little less busy because it leads into Dewey Beach which is a great beach to relax on!
There wasn’t a ton of parking in the area. It’s definitely worth it to purchase one of their parking passes so you can park on any of the side streets.
Somewhere worth visiting is Penny Lane Mall. It’s right off of the boardwalk and is an outdoor “mall”. It’s more like just a street of shops and has the cutest vibes. If you’re looking for a unique spot for fun pictures, this is perfect for that. They had coffee shops and a walk up crepe shop which looked amazing. They had outdoor dining here too.
FOOD
You will 100% see Grotto Pizza while you’re there. They have tons of locations on the boardwalk. It’s a good lunch for on the beach or you can sit out on their patio. We initially weren’t going to try it because it seemed like such a huge chain, but I’m so glad we did because the pizza was delicious!
A super cute coffee spot you need to try is The Coffee Mill. The coffee was good which you will quickly realize because there seems to be a line outside of the building all morning/early afternoon. Worth it, though. The best part was they had all kinds of milk in a fridge available to you so that you can add it in yourself to make it feel like “home”. Such a cute touch!
We ate at The Pond which was not on the boardwalk, so you’ll need a car to get there. I know some people like to park their car when they travel and not have to drive anywhere, so if that sounds like you, this isn’t the restaurant for you. The food was your typical American bar food and was all pretty good. I highly recommend the Buffalo Mac n cheese. It was phenomenal.
A good coffee/juice spot is Dreamer. It’s on the boardwalk (they also have a Miami location). It was yummy, but also more on the expensive side. Their green juice was delicious so I didn’t mind spending $12 for that because I always need all the greens I can get when I’m on vacation.
We also ate at Iron Hill Brewery – an east coast chain. They had pretty good food and a cool vibe. Their burgers were good, the fries were delish, and the grilled cheese with bacon was fantastic.
Overall, Rehoboth Beach was a great spot for a vacation. If you haven’t visited before, definitely plan a visit!
