Figuring out what works best for my skin has been quite the journey. I finally feel like I’ve found products that work really well for me and make my skin glow daily. I also have some tips that I think make a huge difference with my skin. Let’s get into it!
Tips:
- ALWAYS wash your hands before touching your face. I’m a freak about washing my hands before doing anything skincare-related.
- Use a designated towel for drying your face and ONLY use it for your face. Change this out frequently.
- Avoid products with fragrance.
My morning routine is quick and effective. This is what works for me:
- Wash face
- Niacinimide serum
- Moisturizer
- Sunscreen
- Eye cream
Here are all of the exact products that I use.
My nighttime routine is a lot longer than my morning but still attainable. This usually takes me 10-15 minutes.
- Remove makeup with towel
- Micellar water to remove excess makeup
- Wash face
- Guasha with oil (I wipe the oil off after. I don’t like how it feels)
- BHA Liquid Exfoliant
- Niacinimide
- Moisturizer
- Eye cream
- Tretinoin (mine is prescribed)
Here are the products that I use.
About once a week I like to steam my face and use a face mask right after. It’s like an at-home spa treatment. I LOVE the hydrating face mask from Summer Fridays.
Anytime I feel like my skin needs some extra hydration, I like to slug. If you don’t know what slugging is, here’s a brief explanation. Basically you slather petroleum jelly all over your face before bed and you literally will wake up with your skin feeling more hydrated than ever before. It doesn’t clog your pores or make you break out. I use Aquaphor. If you plan on doing this, do your normal skincare routine and finish with this!
